Hey Carly,
Try spreading out a blanket on the floor and putting Elias on his back with a hanging toy over him that he can look at maybe one that moves and or makes noise ( like the mobile in a crib ) it should keep him active and keep his attention for awhile so you could do stuff. Let me know.
